Description of MY chronic pain:
Tue May 16, 2023 11:33 am
For EDS Awareness Month (longish post) - Pain wise I can only liken it to (for me personally):
1. The Hulk is CONSTANTLY driving a steamroller across my lower back. Occasionally stopping just for the Hulk to start jumping.
2. Wolverine just TOTALLY clawing me to shreads.
3. Thor using his hammer to CONSTANTLY bash my knees & shoulders in.
4. Until my daily antihistamine kicks in it's like Cyclops is burning my eyes out.
It's this 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Then other aspects/problems are a CONSTANT issue, but not 24/7/365 like the chronic pain is.
But as:
1. Pain is ALL WE KNOW.
2. Our pain tolerance increases over time of never ending pain.
3. Meds get us to a 'just barely functional' state.
4. You DON'T see our crashes. When we break.
5. We become PRO'S at 'faking being WELL'.
What you see is:
1. Seemingly no real pain as we are not writhing around/crying etc...
2. Us smiling.
3. Us doing some normal day to day stuff.
Etc...
