"We fake being well":

There's a phrase/term that's relevant for us chronic pain sufferers.

"We don't fake being sick, we fake being well".

As a chronic pain sufferer we don't want other's in our lives to see our bad pain days/moments. We hide our pain behind smiles/laughing/keeping kids entertained etc... We fight the constant, neverending pain ALL the time. We crash out/suffer horrifically in private, when were alone.
